wow, can't believe it's already october 2011... thanks for all the comments on the recent work (both posted and in private), my life has been consumed lately by the new dc 52 relaunch and the deadman book so updating and things have been pushed back a bit. it's a five issue arc, so i'll try to post more "behind the scenes" work as the next issue release date approaches...

meanwhile, here are some pages from TONDA, written by the always gentlemanly JONATHAN ROSS, and published in our studio's latest THEBLVD STORYBOOK 1.0, which was sold out at sdcc11 and now only available in very limited quantities at FORBIDDEN PLANET in the uk...

2010 is already half way thru... wow!

just got back from HEROESCON '10 in charlotte, and had a great time hangin with TOMMY LEE EDWARDS and SEAN CHEN, studio-mates from theBLVD, as well as many other comics people. sat across from MING DOYLE all weekend and the view was either of ass (from the people looking/buying her stuff) or of her inking up some amazin commission pieces for her many fans.

next up is the superbowl of comic conventions -- SDCC! make sure to visit our booth on the exhibitors floor 1223, right across from CLIFF CHIANG, JILL THOMPSON and BRIAN WOOD. this year, theBLVD will be featuring our 4.0 SKETCHBOOK -- with special guests BILL SIENKIEWICZ and DAVID LAFUENTE!!! right now, it's back to finishing STELLAR, a pilot season book for TOP COW, written by ROBERT KIRKMAN.

and look for SUPERMAN #700 in stores this month...

july is probably the biggest month in terms of comics these days, mainly cause of the san diego comic con and how it wreaks havoc with deadlines and sleep!

just got back from the first annual asian american comic con in new york city and it was a blast. hangin' out with sean chen, cliff chiang, khoi pham, larry hama, jerry ma, dd kim and others...

can't believe it's already june! half the year is over and done with and we now approach the heart of the comic book convention season... heroes con (6/19-21), and then it's the asian-american comic con (07/11 in nyc), san diego (7/23-27), and baltimore (10/10-11)...

next up work-wise is the jimmy olsen special #2, written by james robinson. been hitting the pavement with the pages and really digging the story...

04.22.09 - LOS ANGELES, CA - it has been scorching HOT in socal these last couple of days. i even thought about turning on the ac and it's still only april! but the entry title really reflects the HEAT/HAWKS playoff series, which heads into game 2 tonight in the atl. my prediction will be that dwade bounces back and drops 48, evening up the series at one game apiece. asking for another double-nickel performance might be a little too much, so i'll be content with the w.

04.16.09 - LOS ANGELES, CA

vacations are not what they use to be. i mean, originally i was to be in the caribbean right about now soaking up some rays, and then since that was cancelled, i was planning on doing all this relaxing stuff like cleaning my place, painting a few walls, organizing my studio, shootin' hoops, and maybe playing some poker, but instead, i find myself working, building/updating websites, and hustling for more work... sigh...

tonight i will be at the borders books in westwood with good friend, neil strauss, signing (and sketching in) copies of his latest nytimes best selling book, EMERGENCY. 7pm til whenever. if you're in the neighborhood, stop by and say hello.

on a personal note, rest in peace, mateo mulcare. mateo was a former teammate at pratt institute who passed away last week. he had the smoothest moves for a dude that was the size of an offensive lineman, breakin ankles and clowning players with his handle. taught me some tricks when i was just a freshman riding the pine. you will be missed, mateo.

recently, i made a resolution to skip twitter and wait for the "next" social-networking-internet-fad (and i have not signed onto my myspace since 12.31.08), so with all  this "spare" time on my hands, my friend eddie choi convinced me to give deviantart a shot... haha. let's see where this goes! buckle your seat belts and please keep all hands inside the vehicle at all times...
